Hi everyone,

On 25th May, I'm taking on a personal challenge by running the Brussels 20km! What started as a goal to push my own limits (when I signed up, the furthest I had run was 11km!), has become an incredible opportunity to raise vital funds and awareness for an amazing cause: DAWEO.

DAWEO is a women-led NGO that has been operating in Afghanistan since 2012, supporting 27 Women Protection Centres (WPCs) in 22 provinces of Afghanistan, providing safe spaces and essential support for women and girls in need.

Beyond direct aid, DAWEO is deeply committed to the long-term empowerment of Afghan women by equipping them with essential skills and knowledge, building their support networks, and advocating for their rights and opportunities. Their work in psychosocial support helps women overcome challenges, while their focus on economic empowerment provides pathways to independence. By fostering connections and providing crucial skills, DAWEO is truly turning challenges into opportunities for Afghan women. 

Just as DAWEO empowers Afghan women by turning challenges into opportunities, I'm excited to turn this personal challenge into an opportunity to support the NGO as part of the Women in Finance (WiF) and Multicultural Network in Finance (MNF) team,
