Help me double the impact of flowers to seniors

Donation protected
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to check this out. I currently run a small non-profit called Twofold Blooms out of my home. It is growing slowly, and after 1 year, I have acquired multiple sources for flowers, and I deliver to 10+ senior facilities around the Twin Cities metro area. I accept flowers donated from weddings, funerals, banquets etc. and turn them into smaller floral arrangements for seniors in memory care and hospice.

I started this non-profit because the seniors in memory care and hospice (even prior to Covid) get the fewest visitors. When I would visit my Dad in memory care, I was often the only family member there. Also, how many flowers do we just throw away after a few short hours? Mostly because few people have a use for them after they have already been cut and placed into an arrangement by a florist.

I get it, it's hard for family members to see their loved ones in this phase of life, but they're still kickin. They still get joy from having visitors, whether or not they are able to express it. And they ABSOLUTELY still enjoy getting flowers even if they don't know who they are from. When I drop off flowers, their faces light up. I include cards in each vase saying who donated the flowers, but honestly, those are more for the family members and caregivers. The seniors don't really care who they are from. All they know is that someone thought about them. Someone cared enough to bring them flowers. That's all that matters.

Although my flowers do reach over 200 seniors, I would like to expand. The current budget is just from my pocket so I rely solely on donations of flowers and vases and I can only deliver flowers when I get a donation. Sometimes I have multiple in a week; other times nothing for a month or two.

I would like to raise enough money to be able to accomplish the following things:
  • Be able to buy flowers in order to have regularly scheduled donations
  • Be able to acquire enough thrift store/Dollar store vases to keep up with donations
  • Be able to expand the number of facilities I can donate to by at least double
  • Be able to entice volunteers by being able to reimburse them for gas mileage
  • Complete light renovations to one of the outbuildings on my farm to be able to run the charity from it OR to be able to rent a small space to run it from.
  • Acquire a commercial floral fridge to be able to store flowers before and after donations
  • Start an annual charity fundraiser walk, in honor of my Mother.

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to read about Twofold Blooms. I greatly appreciate it and no donation is too small. I can make a little go a long way.

Blessings to you!
