Help Me Build My Jewish Future In Israel

“Dad, a kid asked me, ‘What’s that silly thing you wear on your head? Why do we wear kippot, Dad?’” my son might ask one day. And I might respond with a simple, “Hmm, that’s just what we do.”

But I want to be able to say more than that.

As I finish my senior year of high school, I have an incredible opportunity to spend a year in Israel—diving into my roots and connecting deeply with the beauty of my religion. One of my biggest hopes is that when my children come home with questions about Judaism, I’ll be able to answer them with truth, with knowledge, with love—and with confidence.

God willing I’ll be learning at Derech Ohr Sameach in Jerusalem, a place filled with passionate students and inspiring mentors who are dedicated to growth, wisdom, and living a meaningful Jewish life. I want to build my life on a foundation of strong Jewish values, and I believe there’s no better place to start than in our homeland.

But I can’t do it alone.
