Help Me Bring Joy to Refugee Kids!

Hello! My name is Michaela Moore. Recently I found out about The Flying Seagull Project. Have you heard of them? What they do for the suffering kids of the world is AMAZING.

"Founded by entertainer Ash Perrin in 2007, the Flying Seagull Project has gone on to spread love, light and laughter to hospitals, orphanages, deaf/blind schools, marginalized communities, refugee camps and slums around the world.
We believe that it is everyone – man, woman or child’s – right to put aside the cares of life and smile for a while. We work with varying groups across the world to help bring smiles and happiness to people, whether as Clown Doctors for children undergoing difficult medical treatments or through games, arts, music and crafts workshops and circus shows.
The work we do is tailored to our new friends’ needs, whether alleviating stress and anxiety for children undergoing medical treatments, building social inclusion and self-esteem among marginalized groups, or simply providing a welcome break for children caught up in the refugee crisis."
As soon as I dicovered this incredible group I reached out to let them know my background and training. I wanted to find out how I could volunteer with them and contribute to the remarkable work that they are doing. I told them about my professional training and experience as a performer as well as my 20 years of teaching children theatre creation and storytelling. They replied and have invited me to be a part of their training program. I will be doing this in May of this year in order to do a tour with them in summer or fall of 2018.
I am beyond excited for this opportunity and I need your help to make it happen.
The Flying Seagull Project provides housing. I will be contributing to some of the other costs as well as donating my time and absorbing the costs invoved with taking the time off needed for the training and tour, but I need to fund raise to off set some of the rest of the necessary expenses, including:
· Airfare to the training program as well as airfare to the area of the world that my tour will be in (unknown at this time)
· Cost of some of the daily incidentals
Altogether I estimate this will cost about $5400.00. If I end up spending less than this amount, I will donate whatever is left over to support Flying Seagull programing. I will need to raise at least $2000.00 ASAP (by early May) to secure funding for the training that will be happening the week of May 7.
I am hoping that I can raise this primarily through donations of $10 - $20 but any amount, even $1, will enable me to help a group of kids that desperately need a break from the chaos around them and deserve some joy and play in their lives.
Please consider helping these kids by:
· Contributing to this campaign in ANY amount
· Sharing this campaign with others and encouraging them to help me reach this goal
· All of the above!
While I anticipate meeting enough of the goal to make this happen, if for some reason I don't make enough money to go to the training or on the tour, any money given will be also donated directly to The Flying Seagull Project.
