I am passionate about Jewish music! I have been a singer/songwriter/guitar player for a long time and started doing song-leading for synagogue services within the last 5 years. It just feels natural, like the place I'm meant to be! I am so grateful for all the opportunities and encouragement I have been given from the community and from dear friends and clergy. You have all taught me so much and there is so much more to learn!

The next step is Cantorial school! I already started the Cantorial program at the Academy for Jewish Religion in Yonkers over the summer. They have a perfect program for me that allows for distance learning so I can continue living and working in Atlanta, with some in-person requirements.

It is an extensive program that takes 5 years full time (and I have started as a part-time student for my first year while I figure out how to balance my school/work life schedule.) I will take years of Hebrew, liturgy, vocal coaching, Jewish history, Rabbinics and Cantillation etc. You can learn more about the program at https://ajr.edu/programs-of-study/cantorial/

I will graduate with a Master's of Jewish Studies and an ordination as a Cantor.

Going back to school is the most expensive endeavor I have ever undertaken and I know I can't do it all on my own, which is why I am asking for help. Any funds that I receive will go either directly to tuition or for the travel to/from school for the required in-person retreat and intensive in the Fall and Spring. I would be happy to provide a receipt to donors upon request.

I anticipate that Summer Term will cost around $7,407 (with tuition, registration, coaching and books) and that Fall Term will cost around $9082 (with tuition, registration, coaching, books, Fall Retreat and travel).
