What is Revelation Wellness Instructor Training
Hi Everyone,
Thank you for even looking at this! For those who don't know me well, my name is Merra. I am a mental health counselor at YOU, Inc., a nonprofit organization that serves the mental and behavioral health needs of the community. I have been there for over 5 years, working primarily with youth and adolescents in an outpatient setting. I have been married to a wonderful, amazing, God-fearing man for over 8 years, and we have been blessed with 2 wonderful sons. Almost 5 years ago, shortly after we moved to Massachusetts, I chose to make Jesus the Lord of my life 10 days after my husband did, and we have both been Disciples ever since.
What is Revelation Wellness, and what has it meant to me? In one word: FREEDOM! Revelation Wellness is a faith-based wellness organization that puts Jesus as the foundation and core of wellness: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. I was directed to Revelation Wellness in January of this year, and completed the 31-Day Weight Loss God's Way challenge, and it was LIFE-CHANGING! I entered into the challenge very much thinking "well, I've tried it my way, and that clearly has not worked, so why not try it God's way?" And I have not gone back to the worldly way of weight-loss or wellness since. While I certainly did lose some much-needed physical pounds, I lost what was really weighing me down...weighing my soul down...I lost lies about who I am, and really, who God is and who I am in Him. I truly started to have hope for my wellness where there had been none before. Now, this is not to say it's been an easy road. I'm a work-in-progress, and I'm not there yet. But with Revelation Wellness, I have found a community where I can keep persevering, and running the race. I completed the Couch to 5K challenge, a 10-week training program from June to August, and ran a 5K on Labor Day, and again, I was blown away by the faith and endurance that God built in me. I have learned Sufficiency in my eating habits, and I have also taken 1 Corinthians 6:12 to heart: Everything is permissible for me, but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not be mastered by anything." It's been 10 months since I found Revelation Wellness, and what I have gained is worth SO much more than muscles.
Why do I want to become a Fitness Teacher, Gospel Preacher? It's simple, really: I want to give back everything plus so much more that has been given to me! I want to use fitness as a tool to spread the Gospel. I want to be used by God to help others find FREEDOM! I want to help others know that Truth is greater than lies...Perfect Love drives out Fear (1 John 4:18). I want to help others see Fitness as a "Get-to:" a blessing from God that our bodies are Fearfully and Wonderfully made, and we were created to move in Love, no matter what that movement looks like.
I know times are tough right now. And I know God is the ultimate Provider, and the greatest Provision I will ever have. If it truly is His will for me to become a Fitness Teacher, Gospel Preacher, then He will make a way because He is the Way Maker. I invite you, if you are a Christian, to consider praying and seeking His will. If you feel He's calling you to help me, great. If you feel He's not calling you, great! Father, while this is a dream that I feel you have laid on my heart, Your Will be done, not mine.
