Help me continue to learn and step forward in my dance career.
My name is Elia Pangaro and I am asking your help to further my education in the field of performance arts, teaching and choreography. I have 6 years experience professionally dancing in the freelance performing arts sector. Although I always had to do one or two other jobs on the side (working in bars and restaurants ) to have some secure incomes, due to the precariousness of the art field i’m working in. It these unpredictable times, I feel that it is now time continue my acquisition of knowledge within the performing arts sector.
The PADHA Program:
The one-year course PADHA (Proficiency in Advanced Dance and Healing Arts) will provide me with the unique platform to continue my education while allowing me to remain active within the dance field. More about me and why I need your help:
I am 23 years old and i’ve now worked 6 years freelancing as a dancer and performer, having a lot of opportunities working abroad. Though I feel that I lost too many opportunities because of my CV. I started working as a dancer very young then I suddenly moved to live alone and had to get side jobs and dropped University. In the end I never attended any recognized course or any dance Academy and this affects a lot my opportunity to get a dance job. Recently i was accepted to attend the one year intensive organized by Unity Space (PADHA), which accepts only from 12 to 16 students, but because it is a very unique opportunity with a rich program it has also many costs to be incurred. With the money I have saved plus the help of my family I will be able to cover the program cost, but there are a lot more stuff i need to pay: Flights ( To Athens, Bali, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur ), 8 months of house rent ( two months are included in the program ) and food.
Due to the period and the restrictions that came with COVID-19 I lost 4 jobs in the last 7 months and unfortunately I won’t be able to work during the course to support myself. That why I need your help: so I won’t let go a great and life changing opportunity just because it came in one of the economically hardest moments for me and my family.
