Hi, my name is Beat and I'm an artist and single dad. I've been a massive fan of Patricia Piccinini's Skywhales: Every Heart Sings from afar for a while now. Skywhales are finally coming to a city near me very early this Sunday morning (I'm in Brisbane and they're setting off from the Sunshine Coast), and I can't quite afford to drive there.

I'm hoping to get some great photos of the Skywhales takeoff and flight, since they'll be setting off and flying during those golden dawn hours. I'm planning on a drawing (or series of drawings!) based off the photos I take.

I'm asking for donations for petrol money and a new headlight bulb so we can get there safely (I'll be leaving Brisbane around 2am Sunday morning with my two kids). Its an incredible opportunity both for myself as an artist, and to show my kids something massive and beautiful and different to what they have seen of Patricia Piccinini's gallery work. I want them to see art as a living thing in the real world, not just something behind glass in a building.
