<div>My brother McIntyre (yes, that's his unique and real first name; we call him Mac for short) was in a terrible car accident. He was a passenger in a work truck that was involved in an awful head on collision at 60mph. The impact was worst on the passenger side, right where Mac was sitting, leaving him with severe injuries and a long road to recovery.

<div>Mac is the most humble, and hardest-working person I know. He spends his life providing for his wife and daughter, who are his entire world and the reason he does everything. Now, he’s facing life altering injuries that will keep him out of his physically demanding job for a long road of recovery and rehabilitation. This will bring unexpected challenges no family should have to face alone.

<div>Why Mac Needs Our Help

<div>This fundraiser will help cover the many financial burdens that come with a life-changing injury, including:

</div>

<ul>

<li>Keeping his family housed, fed and stable while he’s unable to work - and so that he can focus on recovery

</li>

<li>Home modifications to make his home accessible to mobility limitations as he recovers and rehabilitates his ability to walk up and down stairs

</li>

<li>Transportation costs for himself and his family as he won’t be able to drive.

</li>

<li>Helping him continue his education. Mac was taking college classes through a work program, hoping to transition to a less physically demanding job. Even in the ER, he asked “I hope I can still take my classes." Helping him finish school to open up his employment options feels more important now than ever. His injuries could make returning to this exact job at the very least painful, if it's even possible at all.

<div>McIntyre is a wonderful, kind, and loving human and deserves to have help and dignity through his healing process. Mac is not someone who would ever ask for help himself, but that’s what big sisters are for. He will qualify for some disability assistance, but it won’t come close to replacing his full paycheck, including the overtime he relied on to keep his family afloat - and the costs incurred by this new normal they all face.
