So obligatory note that I really hate to do this, but at this point I really don't have a choice.
After surviving 8 moves, 3 of which over state lines, as well as the amount of travel done for the gaming community, my SUV (lovingly dubbed the Trojan Horse, or the Trojan for short) has finally died. After being towed to the dealership, I was informed that on top of the other issues, the engine died and would take about $4400 to repair. This is one among several things that would need repair, but the only thing I was quoted due to the price tag.
I just finished moving in October and consolidated my debt so I could get my finances together, I do not have the savings or credit limit to afford a repair like this, let alone multiple. Additionally, looking around at used cars for sale, it would just make sense to purchase a newer car, though I can't really afford that either.
I am hoping to raise enough to either afford the repairs or make a decent down payment on a newer car. While we are still in a pandemic so it's not the most urgent thing in the world, this does affect my ability to get particular services, up to and including taking my cat to the vet for a follow up after her run in with fleas from Smyrna.
