On a Sunday night in June, a devastating fire caused by lithium-ion batteries tore through several homes in the Bronx. Mayra’s apartment was completely destroyed in minutes, leaving her and her 10-year-old son with nothing but the clothes on their backs. All of their belongings—furniture, clothing, important documents, and cherished personal items—were lost to the flames.

 Right now, Mayra and her son are staying with a friend, but they urgently need help to rebuild their lives. The funds raised will go directly toward basic essentials like clothing, food, and toiletries, as well as helping Mayra secure a new place to live. Part of the support will also help her replace critical documents lost in the fire, which are necessary for her and her son to move forward.

 Mayra is a loving, hard-working single mom who has always put her son first and helped others in her community, even when she had little herself. Her son is a bright, kind child who deserves stability and a safe home again. Now, Mayra needs a helping hand from those around her.
