On September 3rd, and again on September 7th, our 17-year-old son Max will travel to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to seek second opinions for his complex medical conditions. Over the past two years, Max has faced a series of serious diagnoses—including Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia, Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, and Common Variable Immune Deficiency. These conditions have led to muscle spasticity, pain, seizures, mobility challenges, and multiple hospitalizations and surgeries.
Despite these challenges, Max has shown incredible determination—continuing his studies, supporting his classmates, and representing athletes with disabilities at the state level. His medical team and our family believe CHOP’s specialized expertise could provide critical insight into treatment options and improve his quality of life.
Unfortunately, the cost of travel for out-of-state medical care—airfare, lodging, food, and transportation—is not covered by insurance. With ongoing medical expenses already stretching our family’s budget, we simply cannot cover this trip on our own.
Your support will go directly toward making this trip possible for Max. Whether through a donation or by sharing this page, you are helping ensure he has access to the best possible care and a brighter future.
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you.
