<div>Maura Isabelle Pommer was born on the morning of October 9th, 2023.

<div>On Tuesday, hospital staff came in to do some simple checks. They noticed a heart murmur (somewhat common in newborns that resolve itself).

<div>She had another specialist come in to verify the same thing, but all seemed normal.
</div>
<div>On Wednesday as they were getting ready for discharge, they took Maura for an echocardiogram.
</div>
<div>She was gone for a relatively long time.
</div>
<div>When the specialist came in with another new person, everyone was on edge and worried.
</div>

<div>Maura was diagnosed with the following:

<div>-Atrioventricular Canal Defect
</div>
<div>-Tetralogy of Fallot
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Both are relatively rare cases. Especially to have both at the same time.
</div>
<div>Surgery will be expected this coming spring.
</div>

<div>We started this GoFundMe to help them with the medical costs during this time. Time is also precious and it is a bit of a race against time. Maura needs to be a bit older to have the surgery, however the longer time goes on, the more dangerous her condition. Josh and Sarah are having to pay very close attention as her body is fighting to get enough oxygen with her condition. We are hopeful this financial support also allows Mom and Dad more time with Maura.
