<div>My name is Lachy Lemarseny, and this GoFundMe was started for one of my best and oldest friends, Matt Rose. Matt, a loving father to Pippa, Archie, and Sadie, and husband to the amazing Elle, received earth-shattering news a few weeks ago when he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of colorectal cancer. Later scans revealed that the cancer had spread considerably to his liver.

<div>To say the past few weeks has been difficult for Matt and the Rose family is an immense understatement. The diagnosis has sent shockwaves through Matt’s vast network of friends, both in Australia and overseas. How can a hardworking, healthy 36-year-old dad with no other symptoms receive such a shocking diagnosis? These are the questions we are all asking ourselves. Doctors and surgeons from Wollongong Hospital have outlined the battle Matt has ahead of him over the next few years, and Matt will be taking it head on as we all know he will.

<div>Treatment to fight this aggressive cancer has already begun with a proactive approach. Less than a week after the diagnosis, Matt started his chemotherapy treatment, where he will be treated at the hospital and at home every fortnight. Though extremely distressing, Matt’s well-known positive attitude is already shining through, and he is staying strong for his beautiful family. He is truly selfless and is solely focused on the wellbeing of his family and friends. With emotions running high, Matt is still making us all laugh with his hilarious nature.

<div>With an uphill journey ahead of them, we hope the support from this page can provide a glimmer of positivity in this very tough time for the Rose family. Matt’s generosity knows no bounds, and though he was reluctant to create this page, we assured him he would do the same for any one of his friends. Any donations, large or small, will be used for whatever is needed over the course of Matt’s treatment. As a small business owner and father of three, his income will undoubtedly be affected in the future.
