Help Matt and Mandee

Donation protected
Our neighbors and friends, Matt Obrien and Mandee Keeney, had their home on Old Point Road, here on Plum Island, catch fire due to an electrical issue caused by mice  (according to the Stae Fire Marshall investigator) yesterday afternoon. Their rental house is a total loss, leaving the two of them with only the clothes they were wearing when they left for work in the morning. Their beloved dog Scrappy would have succumbed to the fire if it were not for the Newbury Fire Department and their dedicated volunteers. Scrappy was found unconscious, but quickly revived, and is in the ICU at Woburn Animal Hospital.
Special thanks to neighbors and friends Jim Slane and Amy Williams who saw the smoke and called 911.
When faced with a life crisis such as this, it is friends and neighbors who we would count on to help in a time of need. It is our duty and responsibility as a community to help those in need...it is why we are a community. So it is in that spirit, that we ask everyone we know, and everyone they know, to help with this fundraiser. I can't imagine losing everything I owned, but do know my friends and neighbors would be there to help if needed.
It is now time to dig deep and help this wonderful couple get some clothes on their back, a place to live, and begin to build back their lives. Your generous support is humbly requested, with sincere gratitude. Thanks!
