<div>My name is Florian and my colleague <a href="https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/we-must-teach-refugees-fix-phones-devices-uganda-rhino-camp/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mathew Lubari</a>  from South-Sudan is one of the most impressive people I have ever met. The war in his country officially ended in 2020, but violence and injustice still prevail. Mathew never gave up hope, though. As a refugee, he began to teach other refugees not only how cell phones and computer work, but also how to repair the devices. For people on the move this is not just something nice to know, but can save lives. Ever since then, he has built an impressive movement that advocates for the 'Right to Repair.' Mathew wants to build a more sustainable society, where people understand the value of important devices, not just for the sake of the environment, but the whole system that it entails: exploiting resources, forced labor, unfair distribution of profits, etc.

<div><strong>In order to further advocate his idea and keep growing the right-to-repair-movement, Mathew has been accepted to attend an important </strong><a href="https://www.ict4dconference.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>conference in Kenya</strong></a><strong> , but needs financial support for registration, travel, and accommodation. There are no funds in South-Sudan that could support them.</strong> <strong>We are talking about the very reasonable amount of $1,700 (Euro 1,500)</strong>.
