Help Martine Fight Breast Cancer

Roisin McAree, Caroline McKenna & Mairead Clancy are organising this fundraising page in support of our dear friend Martine who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.

In May while on a trip to Hamilton Island to celebrate what should have been her Wedding Day for the second time which has been postponed due to Covid, Martine found two lumps in her breast. At 29 years of age, extremely fit & healthy it was a huge shock to Martine, her fiancé Sean, their families and wide circle of friends when she received confirmation that it was breast cancer.

Martine is about to embark on a treatment plan which will involve surgery, fertility treatment and chemotherapy over approx. 6 months. Martine has an inspiringly positive attitude and strength which will help her hugely.

Martine & Sean moved to Australia from Belfast 7 years ago and live in Sydney with their beloved groodle Bruno. As many of you are aware due to international travel restrictions into Australia, it is a complex task to get an exemption, then secure a flight & mandatory quarantine in order for Martine’s parents to get to Australia to support her during this time.

There has been an enormous outpouring of requests to help Martine which is not at all surprising as she is an amazing friend to so many people.

All funds raised will go towards helping Martine while she braves breast cancer with a focus to get her family to Australia as soon as possible, contribute towards living expenses or additional costs so that Martine, Sean & her family can focus on her treatment & recovery. Any excess funds will be donated towards breast cancer awareness in Australia & Ireland.
