Help Martina to rebuild her home
Hi , I am fundraising for my best friend Martina to help her to rebuild her home.
On the night of 29th June, torrential rains flooded the village of Klůček near Žatec in Czech Republic. My best friend's home was the worst effected as they live on the lowest point of the village. There was over 3 feet of water in the garden and 1 foot of water in the house. The water destroyed all their equipment, furniture and appliances located on the ground, as well as their car Škoda Fabia parked outside. Martina and her dad lost everything, there was only mud left in the house. The house was insured, but it turned out that the insurance did not cover the damage from torrential rains. Martina's mother recently passed away, so her father (68 years old) and Martina are all alone. I would like to ask you for any help that would allow them to rebuild and return to their home.
As soon as the firefighters drained the water, it was necessary to clear the house of destroyed furniture, appliances, kitchen units and other things. The village helped them with the delivery of a container, where they could throw away destroyed things, furniture and other waste for free. They hoped that some appliances would work after drying out, but unfortunately they are not.
They tried to clear everything as quickly as possible and remove the mud that came with the water. They knocked down walls and after consulting repairs with a builder, the cost of rebuild and repairs will be beyond their savings.
Their house is at the lowest point of the village and that's why their home was the worst affected. The other houses mostly had it only in their garden. Martina's father is 68 years old, now it will be two years since her mother and his wife died, which he took care of until the last day.
When we all supported Moravia to help people after the tornado, little did we know that Martina would be dealing with similar catastrophe just few days after. Fortunately, the house remained whole, only everything inside was damaged. However unfortunately, the car, flooded up to the mirrors is now a write-off. A car is a must for a person in a small village to get to go shopping or see a doctor.
