<div>My name is Shevenie Reid, born in Kingston and proudly raised in Maroon Town, St. James, Jamaica — a place deeply rooted in culture, resilience, and unity. Maroon Town is home to descendants of Jamaica’s first freedom fighters, a proud people who built a close-knit community in the hills of St. James. It’s a place where neighbors look out for one another and where the spirit of togetherness runs deep.

<div>Today, that spirit is being tested. Hurricane Melissa has left Maroon Town in devastation — homes destroyed, roads impassable, and families without food, water, or shelter. Our community clinics have been wiped out, medications ruined, and access to care severely limited.

<div>This is a call not to sit back, but to act. Every dollar raised will go directly toward food relief, medical aid, and rebuilding efforts for those most affected.
