an endlessly inspirational, passionate woman,

mother, lover, fighter, friend,

farmer, poet and singer extraordinaire.

In August 2022, whilst incredibly unwell with terminal cancer, Sara recorded her final album, 'Greetings from Lake St Clair'. Knowing her time was nigh, the project advanced at lightning speed and in November 2022 Sara launched the album with an extraordinary one-off, unforgettable show to a packed theatre in her beloved home-town of Lismore, NSW. The CDs had arrived literally just in time for the launch. And while Sara often dreamt of seeing one of her albums pressed to vinyl, she knew she was unlikely to be around to see it eventuate.

So to bring her dream to life, we’ve set up this GoFundMe campaign to raise the funds to help Mark & Poppy make this happen! And we’re talkin a super deluxe limited edition gatefold beauty with extended liner notes & photos and appropriately hot coloured vinyl, folks…

Greetings from Lake St Clair is the fifth studio album from much loved and lauded singer/songwriter Sara Tindley. Exploring the joys, losses, simplicity and fullness of a life committed to family and community, Greetings from Lake St Clair brims with an extraordinary tenderness and pathos.

“I had an album’s worth of songs ready to record in 2021. Then hard life stuff happened: my daughter dying, the reoccurrence of cancer for me and my town Lismore being destroyed by a monumental flood. Making an album seemed an impossibility and my life has changed so dramatically those songs didn’t fit anymore. But a gentle nudge by producer Lucie Thorne planted a seed and I was writing again. And my musical community got behind the idea and all of a sudden it was happening”.

Recorded over just a few days in August 2022 at La Cueva studio in Tyagarah, on Bundjalung Country in Northern NSW, Greetings from Lake St Clair features stellar band Scott Hills (drums), Brett Canning (bass), Lucie Thorne & Chris Parkinson (guitars), as well as gorgeous cameo appearances by Ash Bell, Jimmy Dowling, Poppy Bayley-Tindley, Suzannah Espie & Nadine Budge.

“There’s nothing like good mates and classy musicians to bring this old girl's songs to life! I had forgotten how much comfort writing and singing gives me. Lucie Thorne nurtured these songs and my broken heart and gave this album its wings”.

From the opening track Stars - a clear-eyed look at mortality sung over a backdrop of hypnotic guitar, to the joyous country-soul groove of Simple Song, the heartbreaking beauty of the centrepiece song Swanling, and the powerful, understated intrigue of the closing track Water Shapes Rock, Greetings from Lake St Clair ultimately shines with Tindley's trademark optimism and warmth, and is perhaps the final distillation of all that has made her such a beloved songwriter.
