I don't even know where to begin here. My life has been a disaster since Angie passed away in May. I've had a disability claim on appeal, which I'm still waiting to be resolved, so the only income we had was her disability and what our daughter received from her mom's disability. If I attempted to take a job, it would ruin my appeal. Obviously Angie's payments stopped on her death, and my daughter's benefits ended when she turned 18 in June
We had been living in her mother's house for the last few years. Her mother has never liked me. Initially, she told me I could stay there until my disability came through. Then she started changing her tune. A week or two later, she decided that I couldn't stay there until it came through, but said nothing about how long I could stay. After that, she said I could stay if I got a job and started paying rent again. Before I could really get a job search going, she decided she didn't want my money and just wanted me to get the hell out. Shortly after that, on July 28th she served me with a 30 day notice, and forced me and my cat Panda to leave on August 27. Oh, I left out that on June 27, the engine in my car threw a rod. That's a $1700 repair job that I obviously cannot afford right now.
With no money and no place to go, I've been staying in my broken car parked across the street because I can't drive it anyplace else. Panda is temporarily staying with my daughter's friend's aunt, but that's only for a couple of weeks at most. Her mom let Jennifer stay at the house, but not the cat...she hates cats.
Today I went to social services to apply for general assistance. They blew me out in less than 5 minutes because I had already been denied disability and therefore wasn't eligible.
So, I could use some help with a place to stay and a place for Panda since I can't have him staying in a car. If I can't find a place for him in the next few days, even temporary, we'll have to give him up to a shelter, which breaks my heart. I don't know what I'm going to do for myself either with no money or income. All I'm getting now is food stamps, so at least I can eat. I just know that with my health, I can't live like this for long.
If anyone can help me out with any of this. Somewhere I can stay, someone who could at least adopt Panda temporarily, anything at all, please let me know. It pains me to have to ask any of this, but I just don't know what else to do at this point.
