My story started when I was 31, 8 years ago. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma stage 3 (Breast Cancer). I went through chemo, that almost killed me, radiation, hyperbaric therapy, than started taking a chemo pill they said would keep the cancer from returning, but I would be taking it the rest of my life.

Fast forward 7 years. At this point I had been in remission for 6 years and we moved to South Korea for my husbands work with the Department of Defense. All was well, with no signs of my cancer returning.

Fall of last year, all that changed. In October they found the cancer was back, but stage 4. I spent Thanksgiving day in surgery to remove the new cancer area. And have been in treatment since.

Back in the USA I have Medicare and everything would be covered, but here I don't. So every month we have to spend approx 500,000 ₩ (400usd) on my chemo, and even more if i need scans etc. (Not including the money paid for other Dr appointments and medications I'm also on). On my husband's salary, we have been getting by, but just barely, esp since i may have to have another surgery soon. We are trying to get back to the states but finding a new job has been difficult. So now, we are asking for any assistance possible to help us continue to pay for my medical expenses until we are able to get back to the US.
