Help Maria Silva become a doctor

My name is Mark Gason, some of you know me many do not. I spend considerable time in Nicaragua where I am very proud to know the Silva family.
This is Maria Silva of Laguna de Apoyo, Nicaragua. She is the daughter of proud parents Donaldo and Rosario Silva. Donaldo is the manager of my friend Annemarie's property there. Maria recently graduated top of her High School class and has now been accepted to Medical School. She will be the first in her family to go to college.
In fact she has already started Medical school in the capital city Managua. She must get up at 4am to catch the 5am public bus 2 hours to school at Facultad de Medicina UNICA . She does this with a smile and still comes home at 8pm to enthusiastically study.
Maria graduates high school
Medical school is a serious expense for a family from the Laguna. Her studies are made possible by the generosity of her fathers employer who covers half of her school fees but as you all know there is a lot more expense to school than just fees.
Maria must have a laptop to continue her studies and that's where I and hopefully you step in. A laptop which may be a regular purchase to many of us is completely beyond the means of a regular family in Nicaragua where the normal daily, not hourly, wage is $10! I am donating the first $500. I hope you can help me provide a decent computer for her studies.
I will return to Nicaragua in early May. In the USA on my way there I will purchase the best possible laptop for whatever amount your generosity has raised. If any small amount is left over it will be donated to cover other expenses such as books.
Help me change the lives of a family. Let Maria not only become the first in her family to graduate college, but also a Doctor to serve her small community.

thanks to everyone who has been so amazingly generous. Some people mentioned wanting to still donate and not being sure if they could beyond the limit. Well actually you can but just to make it clear I have raised the limit. All of the money raised will go to buying Maria the laptop and books.
