<div>My name is Maria Carrillo and I was diagnosed on latest November and I am facing the hardest battle of my life Stage 4 Breast Cancer. Hearing those words from my doctor was something I could never have prepared for. Overnight, my world changed and so did the world of my loved ones.
</div>
<div>I am a mother of 2 children and grandmother of 10 grandkids that I love with all my heart. My husband passed away almost 3 years ago unexpectedly and we are still recovering from loosing him. My family is my greatest blessing, and my deepest wish is to be here with them as long as I can. I want to keep creating memories, to watch my grandchildren grow as they only have me and my daughter. I want to share in all of life’s moments that cancer is trying to steal away. They are my reason for fighting every single day.

<div>But this journey is not just an emotional one it’s also a financial battle for myself and my daughter. Even with insurance, the bills for Outpatient hospice, hospital stays, medications, scans, and transportation are overwhelming not to say my daughter has to be off work to take care of me Because of my illness, I have been unable to work as I once did, making it difficult to keep up with both medical costs and basic living expenses.

<div>Mi nombre es Maria Carrillo y fui diagnosticada a finales de noviembre con la batalla más difícil de mi vida: Cáncer de mama en etapa 4. Escuchar esas palabras de mi doctor fue algo para lo que jamás estuve preparada. De un día para otro, mi mundo cambió y también el de mis seres queridos.

<div>Soy madre de 2 hijos y abuela de 10 nietos a quienes amo con todo mi corazón. Mi esposo falleció inesperadamente hace casi 3 años y todavía estamos recuperándonos de esa pérdida. Mi familia es mi mayor bendición, y mi deseo más profundo es estar con ellos el mayor tiempo posible. Quiero seguir creando recuerdos, ver crecer a mis nietos —pues solo me tienen a mí y a mi hija— y compartir todos los momentos de la vida que este cáncer intenta arrebatarme. Ellos son mi razón para luchar cada día.

<div>Pero este camino no es solo emocional, también es una batalla financiera para mí y mi hija. Aun con seguro médico, las cuentas por cuidados paliativos, hospitalizaciones, medicinas, estudios y transporte son abrumadoras, sin mencionar que mi hija ha tenido que dejar de trabajar para poder cuidarme. Debido a mi enfermedad, ya no puedo trabajar como antes, lo que hace difícil cubrir tanto los gastos médicos como los básicos del hogar.
