Support Margie Matthai and Family After Devastating Flood

We are creating this fundraiser to help support our dear cousin, Margie and her children, who's house and belongings were deeply damaged due to catastrophic flooding in Swannanoa, NC, caused by Hurricane Helene.

During the flooding, Margie and her two young children were able to take shelter in on the second level of their two story shed while they waited for hours to be rescued. She not only was able to save her family, she also was able to save many of her neighbors, their children, and their pets from the rising flood waters.

We lost communication with them for a few hours and were relieved to hear that she had been evacuated to a shelter. What they are going through is unimaginably difficult. Margie's house was flooded and damaged drastically. What they will be going through in the coming weeks, months, and beyond is going to be difficult.

We are raising funds to help them get back on their feet. To purchase clothing, household items, food, cleaning supplies, and a long list of other items that they will need as they rebuild and recover from this horrendous flood.
