Buy Marg a Car

Hello everyone!

You all know my mom, she's a friend, a parent, a colleague, a loved one, a mentor... She's Mom to many more than just her own kids. She's given her all to the Michigan Tech community as well as the Keweenaw Community. From being advisor to some amazing campus groups, to being a loud presence for basketball/hockey/volleyball games, to her work in the Physics department where she was the person to go to if you ever had a problem in Fisher Hall. She's driven her fair share of us home after a rowdy night at the DT, the Doghouse, or any other number of Houghton bars. Anyone who knows her is aware of how much she gives of her time and energy to those around her. I'm hoping that we can give back a little bit.

We are in the process of getting her current car, an aging 1999 Buick Century, fixed - it had a bad muffler, still has a gas leak, and no brakes.
Because of the age of the vehicle and the likelihood it will break down again, leaving her with no way to get around, we want to get her a newer vehicle.

Depending on how much we raise we're going to make a decision to get her current car fixed, along with some preventative work, or get her a newer vehicle.

If we can hit our goal of $1500 I'll find her a car in Minneapolis and get it brought up to her. If we can surpass the goal, we will get her a progressively nicer vehicle. It would be great to be able to get her an AWD car she wouldn't have as many problems getting around in winter with.

She's got 1,588 friends on Facebook, and many more besides, if we can all contribute just a little bit, I know we can help her with this!
