Help Marc Recover

Donation protected
Thank you for taking a moment of your time to learn more about my brother Marc's current medical and economic predicament. His story is kind of a long one but I'll do my best to make it a short one. I hope it will help you better understand why I created this GoFundMe page for him.
My brother Marc has a family of three .  His wife Kim is currently a stay at home mom for their three year old daughter.  He is very passionate about his family, and believes in Jesus Christ.   In 2016 he started his own Mental Health counseling practice, prior to that he worked as a Mental Health counselor within an agency.

On April 11th, 2014 Marc came down with pancreatitis.  His condition was so bad that he was transferred by helicopter from one hospital to another one. The doctors felt his best chance to survive was to place him in an induced coma, his prognosis was not good.  After two weeks in an induced coma his body had begun to heal itself.   The doctors brought him out of the coma.   All the medical personnel who cared for him in the hospitals considered his survival a miracle.   Marc was fortunate he was young, 41, his heart was strong and with the power of prayer from family, friends and strangers he survived this ordeal.  His recovery time was slow. He had to learn to move his arms and walk again. He had lost over 40 pounds.  Marc was in the hospitals for two months, much of the time was spent in ICU.  He missed six months of work.  It was devastating financially for him and his family. Marc asked for no financial help even though his medical bills exceeded 500  thousand dollars with health insurance.

Fast forward to May 24th, 2017.  Before leaving for work Marc started to experience pain in his stomach. He told his wife Kim, "I am going to be honest with you, I feel something is not right. I will call you from work if I decide to go to the hospital." Not long after he arrived at work, he decided to drive himself to the hospital emergency room. The pain he had felt in the morning, had progressively become more intense. (Pain created by pancreatits is excruciating) Unfortunately, Marc once again has pancreatitis.

So far his second round of pacreatitis has not been as bad as his first one. The pain however was just as excruciating though.  He spent 10 days in ICU to manage the pain.   He was discharged from the hospital a week later. His stay at home lasted just four days before he once again was admitted to the hospital because of pain.  Marc was discharged from the hospital June 17, 2017. Time will tell how long it will take him to heal and feel well enough to begin going back to work.   He currently has fluid on the outisde of his pancreas in which his body has to get of.   In addition he will have to have his Gall Bladder removed, when doctors feel he is strong enough to have the surgery performed. Once again Marc will be out of work over four months or longer without income, while compiling 100s of thousands in new medical bills.  Marc wants to go back to work.  He likes to help others and honestly feels uncomfortable about receiving help from others.

Your donation to Marc's GoFundMe account will help  pay current, past and future debts plus his everyday life expenses. Thank you very much for whatever donation you feel comfortable giving to help Marc. Your act of kindness is greatly appreciated by me, our family and Marc's. Please share his GoFundMe story with those you may feel might like to help us help Marc with a  donation or pray for him.

God Bless you and the ones you love,
Colleen Young (Marc's sister)
