On Saturday July 22nd, Dennis and his best friend went for a Bike ride to Idaho City, had lunch and rode back to Boise. How this happened we aren't completely sure, Dennis' memory get' s better everyday and we are hoping as he heals he will be able to fill us in. But, it's really not important...what is important is that BOTH riders survived! Dennis somehow clipped his friend and lost control of his bike and flipped it. Thankfully his friend was uninjured. Dennis has a list of injuries...facial fractures ( both cheeks and nose) . His neck has 2 fractures, 4 broken ribs and collapse lung (chest tube with that one) small lacerations on his spleen and kidney (that had stopped bleeding and isn't a concern anymore) and then there's his leg! It's broken and has trauma blisters all over it). Because of the swelling and blisters they did an external fixture to set and stabilize his leg while we wait for the swelling to go down. Then he will have another operation on Friday to set the plates and pins.

My sister and I are hoping to raise a little money, to make this recovery a little easier. With our dad being retired, mom taking time off to care for my dad, and the medical bills that will start pouring in, anything helps. Thank you all!!

The start of the trauma blisters

The trauma blisters the day of surgery. They had to go around the blisters with the external structure, for fear of infection of they were to rupture the blisters.
