Help Make "The Books of Ruth" EP Album

"The Books of Ruth" is a new original musical by student playwright and composer Joy Heino. A retrospective drama dealing with the choice between fiction and reality. Ruth, an old "never-was" whose dreams of writing the wrongs of the un-happy ending to Thomas Mallory's Le Morte D'Arthur and living the fairytale herself are crushed by a series of strokes which leaves her with the inability to read or write. We follow the story through her eighteen-year-old daughter, Quinn, as the family falls apart, secrets are revealed, and ghosts from the past determine the future.
This show has been showcased in 2 concert readings, and from there, been edited. It is now at a place where we are preparing to present the work in front of potential producers and investors. To do so, one of our main goals is to record a few of the songs from the show to create a sampling of what this show has to offer. We have partnered with a local recording studio, Canto Studios, and are now trying to come up with the funds to pay for our time there.
