Help make my Commute to work a little easier

I'm a Father of 3 with wife due in Dec with our 4th. I work at a gas station so as you would assume i don't make much, My Daily commute is usually either by bike or walking.  I live 6.3 miles from work an some days I'm schedule to come in at 4am so I leave at 3am just to be safe, an the nights I'm supposed to close, same thing. I do not mind doing what I've been doing now for a little over 4 months but its beginning to take a toll on myself an my life. I want to spend time with my family, it's hard to walk 6miles work 8.5 hrs an then walk 6 miles back an still have the energy to help with kids an stuff around the house.  I know this may be a long shot but anything helps.
