Our dad was an Air Force Fighter Pilot for 20 years. He flew A-10's and he was in Desert Shield/ Desert Storm. He was an ALO with 3rd Armored Cav. out of Ft. Hood. He flew F-117's participating in Operation Allied Force, Operation Noble Anvil, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He flew Predators and he designed and test piloted the current Predator air frame. During his 20 years of service he was awarded various medals, including but not limited to Air Medals and Meritorious Medals.
Not only was he there as an amazing father while we were growing up and helping us all in school and various activities to make sure we were always happy. After John, Sean and I graduated high school he still provided for us with housing, food, bills, and my full college tuition. He's looked after my dogs while I was away in college and he always checked in that I was financially well and happy.
We recently found out my dad has oral pharyngeal cancer. He begins treatment on October 1st at MD Anderson. He and my mom will be down there for the 7 weeks of treatment. Although we have insurance we still have household expenses, mom has to take a leave of absence from work, and non-medical bills aren't fully covered (travel, food, etc.) After these 7 week treatments he will have to go back to Houston for checkups every 3-6 months for 2 years and once a year for the rest of his life.
Dad has always been there to support us, please help us out to give back to him through these difficult times. All funds collected will help pay for travel, lodging and food for my mom so that she can be with him throughout the treatment. The funds go towards helping Sean, John and me while we stay here taking care of the house and the dogs.
