Help Maisie get well!

Donation protected
Please join us in helping the Allen family! This past month, Butch and Maria Allen experienced a traumatic accident. Their youngest daughter, 8 month old Maisie, ingested a Tide Pod while at a family member’s house.

Maisie suffered severe internal chemical burns in her esophagus and spent 16 nights in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at Mission Hospital in Asheville, where many days were frighteningly bleak and scary.  Maisie required 24 hour care from a team of amazing doctors.  Because her throat was swollen shut, she was sedated and on a ventilator for a couple days.  It took over a week for her to fully awaken so she could be taken off oxygen and a feeding tube. Thanks to the great care from the hospital and the prayers from many around the world, Maisie was released from the hospital and is now recovering at home.  She is expected to make a full recovery.

As you can imagine, the costs of Maisie’s care are extraordinary. She will require care and therapy in the months to come to ensure a full recovery.  While their medical insurance will cover a percentage of these costs, the family’s out of pocket charges could easily exceed $50,000.  We hope that this fundraising effort will help to alleviate some of the burden of medical bills so that Maria and Butch can fully focus on helping Maisie heal and fully recover.

Thank you so much for your support!
