<div>My name is Ximena Franco-Jenkins, and I am writing this on behalf of my best friend and sister by choice, Magaly Patron, her fiancé, Greg, and both of her children, Kiara &amp; Adam. For those of you who know Magaly, you know she was absolutely amazing. She was a great friend to everyone lucky enough to know her, and she had a special gift for always bringing people together. She was the heart of her community, our Carmelita’s community, and the person who brightened every room she walked into.

<div>Above all else, Magaly's kids were always her priority; they were everything for her. She was a devoted single mother whose primary goal was to protect and cherish Kiara &amp; Adam during this challenging time as well as support their education.
</div>

<div>In August 2025, Magaly's world was irrevocably changed when she was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. ALS is a brutal, progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to the loss of muscle control. Unfortunately, Magaly left us peacefully on November 23rd, 2025, at 12:58 am.

<div><strong>The Need: Why We Need Your Help</strong>

<div>During this difficult time, we want to support Greg (Magaly's Fiancé) to continue to build memories with the kids that honor Magaly's life. In addition, we want to support Kiara, who will be attending medical school this summer, and Adam, who is graduating from high school in May and will attend a 4-year university during the summer or fall (depending on the school).

<div>Mi nombre es Ximena Franco-Jenkins y escribo esto en nombre de mi mejor amiga y hermana que la vida me dio, Magaly Patron, su prometido, Greg, y sus dos hijos, Kiara y Adam. Para quienes conocieron a Magaly, saben que ella era absolutamente increíble. Fue una gran amiga para todos los que tuvieron la suerte de conocerla y tenía el don especial de unir siempre a las personas. Ella era el corazón de su comunidad, de nuestra comunidad Carmelita, y la persona que iluminaba cada habitación en la que entraba.

<div>Por encima de todo, los hijos de Magaly siempre fueron su prioridad; ellos lo eran todo para ella. Fue una madre soltera dedicada cuyo objetivo principal era proteger y cuidar a Kiara y Adam durante este tiempo difícil, así como apoyar su educación.

<div>En agosto de 2025, el mundo de Magaly cambió irrevocablemente cuando fue diagnosticada con Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica (ELA), también conocida como la enfermedad de Lou Gehrig. La ELA es una enfermedad neurodegenerativa progresiva y brutal que afecta las células nerviosas del cerebro y la médula espinal, lo que provoca la pérdida del control muscular. Lamentablemente, Magaly falleció el 23 de noviembre de 2025, a las 12:58 am, dejando un vacío muy grande.

<div>Durante este momento tan difícil, queremos apoyar a Greg (el prometido de Magaly) para que continúe creando recuerdos con los niños que honren la vida de Magaly.  Además, queremos apoyar a Kiara, quien comenzará la carrera de medicina este verano, y a Adam, quien se graduará del colegio en mayo y asistirá a la universidad durante el verano o el otoño (según la institución).
