Help Madelyn go to NYLF

Madelyn has been nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum’s annual Pathways to STEM Envision Program. She was nominated by her teacher for many reasons, including her stellar grades and unwavering love for helping others. But what stands out the most about Madelyn is her fearlessness. She approaches every problem with determination, even if the problem doesn’t affect her. Mulberry Creek Elementary is fortunate in that the school has updated technology available to all students at all times, but Madelyn is never interested in playing games on the tablet. She would rather use it to read. Instead of watching funny videos after completing assignments, Madelyn would rather look up different foods to feed her class pets. On the playground, Madelyn will invite a fellow student to play with her before even asking what their name is. Madelyn has the constant goal of making her classroom, her school, and the world better for everyone.

 

For six days Madelyn will participate in hands-on educational experiences that will foster her natural critical thinking skills. This incoming third grader has never met a challenge she was afraid of, and in a world where women makeup half of the workforce, but only 24% of the STEM field, Madelyn is more determined than ever to take advantage of this opportunity. Professionals from science, technology, engineering, and math backgrounds are in high demand. Early exposure to the skills that this program provides help children become both interested and knowledgeable in topics and subjects that they may not have been introduced to otherwise. Participating in an overnight program will also allow Madelyn to learn a new level of independence in a safe, controlled environment.

Without help from wonderful donors like you, this smart girl would not be able to attend the Pathways to STEM Program that has been providing new and unique opportunities to determined and exceptional children for over 30 years. When Madelyn grows up, she wants to be a veterinarian.
