<div>Maddie and I have been friends for 5 years. When we first met, I was deep in a personal crisis. She was a key member of the community that held me together. Without her acceptance, curiosity, and steadfastness, I don't know where I'd be.

<div>Now, Maddie is in the midst of her own crisis. <strong>Her mental health has plummeted in the past several months, and she has been put in the difficult position of needing to quit her job in order to recover from a very dark place.</strong> Leaving her call center job without a safety net is terrifying. It's what she needs to do to preserve her mental health, but she's scared of what will happen if she can't find alternative work within the month. Like so many, Maddie has also lost her SNAP this month. While she is applying to at least two jobs a day, I want to make sure she doesn't lose housing. It is my hope that <strong>we can be her safety net</strong>.

<div>My hope is that this money will give her breathing room to get the care/treatment/support she needs and to find a job in her chosen field of IT.
