My name is Maddie Nagel and I have been nominated for ECYD Mission Corps! 
As you can see, I was pretty excited to open up my recommendation letter to be an ECYD missionary. I am 15 years old, and I am currently a freshman at St. Francis DeSales Highschool. I am involved in cheerleading, track, and an active participant in many of our clubs, including St. Vincent de Paul, and spanish club. I love being involved in my parish, St Paul's in Westerville; through teen choir and youth group. I am the fifth out of six kids in my family. I have an older brother who was also an ECYD missionary. My mom is an active Regnum Christi member and encourages me everyday. Growing up with these influences I have developed a deep love for my faith, and bringing others to Christ. I'm very outgoing, I love to sing and play ukulele, and I would love to be an ECYD Missionary this summer!
I wholeheartedly accept this nomination as it will be an incredible opportunity for spiritual growth, training, service, and fun!
What is ECYD Mission Corps?
ECYD Mission Corps is an international Catholic missionary exchange program, where high school students can volunteer their time (4 to 8 weeks) during the summer.
What will I be doing?
I will be living with other ECYD members from around the world, sharing our faith, learning from the others' experiences and cultural differences. I will be planning, creating, and leading dynamic faith based projects and activities for Catholic summer camps, and missions, all while growing in my own friendship with Christ. This summer, I will be traveling within the United States, but next summer I hope to travel abroad to serve in another country.
Why am I doing this?
I want to be a missionary because young people today are looking for meaning and purpose in their life. I want to help young people discover that their life has meaning and purpose in Christ, and to inspire others to live their Catholic faith.
I desire to do this because when I was in middle school and attended Challenge summer camps, it was the ECYD missionaries who inspired me by their joy in living for Christ!

I will need to raise $2,800 for my program fee, travel, and living expenses. If you are able to, will you sponsor me? If your answer is 'yes', please respond before April 1, 2018.
