Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,
My name is Jessica, and I’m the mother of a strong and beautiful girl named Maddi. I’m reaching out with a heavy heart but also with hope, asking for your support during one of the most difficult times our family has ever faced.
On the weekend of May 2nd, 2025, Maddi suffered a traumatic accident and broke both of her hands, requiring surgery. On May 9th, she went into surgery, but things took a frightening turn. During the procedure, doctors discovered that Maddi has a rare genetic condition called Malignant Hyperthermia—a life-threatening reaction to certain anesthesia.
She was immediately placed on breathing support and rushed to USA Children’s Hospital ICU in Mobile, AL. Her vitals were unstable, and she battled a high fever. It was terrifying. But on Mother’s Day, May 11th, Maddi gave me the greatest gift I could ask for—she opened her eyes, breathed on her own, and squeezed my hand.
I haven’t left her side since this began. As a result, I’ve been unable to work, and bills are starting to pile up. I’m doing everything I can to stay strong for Maddi, but I need a little help to cover monthly necessities like rent, food, transportation and necessities for my other children family and friends are watching while she continues to recover.
We don’t yet know how long Maddi will need to stay in the hospital, but every donation—no matter how small—makes a difference. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this campaign so others can see it.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support. Maddi is a fighter, and with your help, we’ll get through this together.
With love and gratitude,
Jessica Nichole Forehand (Warrick)
