Help Maca recieve dialysis.

I worked closely with Maca whilst I was working in Fiji, Maca is one of the most gentle, kind and strong women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Maca is a community mental health nurse working in the Northern Division of the Fiji Islands. Maca is a compassionate and competent nurse and an outstanding advocate for mental health in Fiji. Maca has spent her life caring for and putting others before herself both in her work and at home. When she told me of the cards she had been dealt, in true Maca style she was not concerned about herself and the pain and suffering that she endures on a daily basis but her real concern was for her children and how they would manage without her. She has 3 beautiful boys (Josaia 19, Jope 12 and Henry 8) who she absolutely adores and lives for. She and her husband work very hard to provide them with a good education and to put food on the table. Working and living in Fiji is really tough. A registered nurse would be lucky to take home $200 a week. Maca has unfortunately been diagnosed with end stage kidney failure which requires her to have dialysis 2x per week. The out of pocket cost for dialysis is $150 per session ($300 per week), Maca has been missing dialysis and has a large debt (approx $3000) that is outstanding to the dialysis unit as she is unable to pay for her treatments with the wage that she earns. She becomes very ill when she does not recieve dialysis and in turn is unable to work at times. Maca is now considering retiring from her role as the sole community mental health nurse for the whole Northern Division so that she can access her FNPF (equivalent to our super) to help pay off her debt so she continue to receive dialysis. Once this money is gone she has nothing more. Although there is no option to cure Maca within Fiji I am asking all that can afford any amount of money to please donate to this beautiful nurse, mother and wife. The money raised will go towards her dialysis costs and to relieve her of debt from the dialysis unit so that she can spend as many healthy days as possible with her beautiful children, her pride and joy. Maca deserves every cent we can give.
