<div>This page is created by Lulú's long-time friends and loved ones to support her as she recovers from the devastating Eaton Fire that ravaged Altadena and burned her home to the ground. Lulú and her adorable fierce chihuahua Yuka, not only lost their home, but Lulú also lost her home business in bilingual, cross-cultural training and education (Lulú is a native Spanish speaker and has many years of experience as an English language coach and educator). Lulú also volunteered by giving regular nature and bird-watching tours for the local Audubon Society at Eaton Canyon—she established a deep connection with its natural space, the animals, and locals involved in nature preservation. She integrated Spanish lessons into these nature discoveries to facilitate knowledge exchange and make nature walks more accessible and fun. Then the fire destroyed everything.

<div>Like many of her neighbors, Lulú saw the mountain near her home engulfed in flames and immediately evacuated in the pitch-black of a power outage. It was up to her, alone, to rescue the two dogs while running for safety from 100 mph (160 kph) winds, trees crushing vehicles, and the fire racing towards them. Unfortunately, she didn’t have time to pack anything and lost everything. After this terrifying experience, she and the pups found temporary shelter with a friend and are figuring out how to move forward.

<div>All funds will go directly to Lulú and Yuka and will be used for expenses not covered by insurance or FEMA. With a current low income and minimal resources, she is unable to cover even temporary housing in Los Angeles. Please support her so she and her dogs can move forward. Any amount will be tremendously helpful and will go directly to them. Let's show her our love and solidarity during this unimaginably difficult time.
