My name is Rula Khoury. I am a Co-Founder and Director of the Ayla Project International (API), which is based in Seattle and Egypt. API is a nonpolitical humanitarian aid organization that empowers critically ill or injured war refugee children, their mothers, and families to flourish through safe relocation and medical, psychological, educational, and employment support.

We previously shared with you the stories of 4 year old Lulu and Lara, the sweetest and most carefree girls that also happen to be friends since birth. They both miraculously survived then and escaped the most hostile humanitarian crisis of our time. Now they need our help as they get ready to receive life-saving medical intervention which includes cardiac surgery in Europe. We were fortunate to receive funding to pay for Lara's surgery in Milan, Italy. We are currently working with another organization that will help treat Lulu, but we need to pay for their plane tickets as well as provide funds for food, medical cost, clothing as well as other critical needs.
