Our mother Lucy has always been a strong and caring person, but she is now facing one of the toughest moments of her life. On Thursday, her apartment in Juarez was destroyed by an electrical fire. Thankfully, she was safe—she had just noticed the smell of smoke before things got worse. Unfortunately, the fire took everything: her essentials, important documents, and all her furniture. To make matters worse, her landlord is blaming her for the fire, even though it was caused by faulty wiring, and there was no insurance to help her recover.

 Right now, Lucy is staying in an Airbnb while we search for a new place for her to live. She has nothing left from her old home, and she needs help to cover the cost of temporary housing and to replace basic items like clothing and daily necessities. We are doing everything we can to support her, but we can’t do it alone.
