Help Lucy fight for her life.

Many of you have followed my rescue, self and dogs for some time, some new to everything but one dog you've probably seen along my journey is my retired service dog, one of the dogs that started it all, Lucy.
Lucy is a retired service dog, graduated top of her class and led me on my journey to be a certified trainer, CGC instructor and be able to take her into programs to help other humans and dogs.
Lucy's been there for every rescue pup brought into RR. She's been their mother dog when theyve been abused and abandoned by humans. She's sat aside recovering addicts and helped calm them through compression. Visited elderly homes and brought smiles to so many with her bubbly, loving demeanor.
Now Lucy needs help as she's fighting for her life.
Lucy is currently in the ER at VCA Los Angeles. Lucy was sick 2 weeks ago so she was taken in for Xrays and ultrasounds done at our usual vet, Sweetwater. The tests showed what they said a mass on her spleen. A splenectomy was scheduled immediately for this coming Friday, May 6th. Lucy showed some bloating in her stomach and other weird signs that my vet said shouldn't be a big concern and would be addressed at surgery, but then two days ago, she started uncontrollably shivering. It wasn't a seizure, so I felt it was a definite indicator of her being in pain and I couldn't wait any longer cause I knew in my gut something was wrong. Every ER around our area didn't have a surgeon in, couldn't take her or was full. I decided to drive her down to VCA LA, where I'd taken many rescue dogs before from my organization, Like Kobe, Minnie and more.
They started with X-rays, Spot ultrasounds, hospitalization, fluids and pain meds. The vet quickly discovered Lucy is in much worse shape than thought. Lucy has issues in her Liver, Bladder and Intestines.
Her intestine is perforated with a mass and has started to release fluid into the abdomen. There's a mass showing in her bladder and liver. They did a full body CT scan and blood tests to show what was being discovered. There's more to it in very technical terms, which I'll get into but now begins trying to get it all paid for to move forward. The vet is putting her right into surgery today, May 2nd, to resect the masses, suture the intestine and a possible blood transfusion. This will all be to get her stable and see how she comes out. All samples will be sent to check them, and we'll continue on.
Lucy has always been the rock in my life. She's the reason I'm still alive as she served as my service dog for 5 years, keeping me from ending it. She retired after her last major surgery to remove 11 masses years ago. She still tries to serve me daily cause it's what she knows and loves to do. She is why I rescue so many dogs now and never give up. She's given me more in life than I could ever repay, so my only goal right now is to get her stable and be able to see her again no matter what path this leads us down.
I'm always there to help everyone with my organization, and now that the tables have turned on me, the attorney general won't allow my rescue to help me as they see it as self-benefiting. It's come at the worst time after putting everything I have into expanding the rescue with my own funds to try and save more animals. Instead of being angry that things are completely wrong with how CA operates in these situations, I'm going to try and be proactive and finally ask for help from everyone that's offered or supported my org and dogs.
The current bill is at $18,000 and climbing. This amount is going into surgery and where it's at without any complications. Many times, complications arise when battling several factors.
I'll keep updating everything as much as I can, but just like every dog you all have helped me save before, I appreciate you taking the time to be here and help when Lucy needs every positive thought and love sent her way. Share this if you can. We truly appreciate you all, please keep Lucy in your thoughts for us to pull through this.
