This GoFundMe page is made on behalf of Ret. Sergeant First Class Louis Montoya. SFC Montoya served his country as a combat Infantryman with formations ranging from Ranger Regiment, 1st Cav Division, and the National Training Center. SFC Montoya retired honorably and was pursuing studies at Baylor University while residing in Waco, Texas.
On 11OCT2017, Louis was involved in a volatile collision with an 18-wheeler, traveling along I-35. Louis sustained multiple contusions, a left ulnar fracture, a cervical C6 fracture (neck), a dislocation and fracture within his left hip, multiple rib fractures, and a right ankle sprain.
As an honorably retired serviceman, Louis Montoya's insurance will cover partial payments of his mounting medical bills; moreover, essential expenses such as car payments, food, rent, and day to day expenses will also be difficult to address. Based on his current limitations and strict physical recovery program, Louis will be unable to continue employment for at least 6-8 months; consequently, Louis will have to rely on his savings account to address future payments.
We humbly ask that the community assist Louis Montoya and his family during their time of need. I can affirm that Louis is an honorable, faithful, and hardworking American. He has sacrificed years of family interaction to serve his country time and time again. A little will go a long way in support of the Montoya family.
