<div>This fundraiser is on behalf of LoriLee Litman, a military veteran and the dedicated mother of an amazing 11-year-old boy, Phoenix. We are seeking your support to help LoriLee raise funds for legal fees to secure custody of Phoenix and bring him back home to his mother where he belongs. Without the necessary legal fees, she risks losing her son.

<div>LoriLee and Phoenix's father separated approximately 10 years ago. Since then, LoriLee has been the custodial parent until April 2024, when a series of unfortunate events led to a temporary change in custody. Her former ADA-appointed lawyer misinformed her on an important document, and the father's lawyer used this opportunity to apply for a temporary change of custody, leading to a looming custody hearing.

<div>In 2015, LoriLee left the relationship with the help of the Department of Veteran Affairs, which provided emergency support to relocate her and Phoenix. Since then, she has been fighting a court battle for custody, constantly for over 9 years.
</div>

<div>LoriLee's recent legal troubles began when her ADA-appointed lawyer failed her and did not file the appropriate documents which forced her to hire a family law firm in April 2024.
</div>

<div>The situation is dire. The father and his fourth wife are attempting to gain custody, and have no reason to take LoriLee’s son from this loving and giving mother. Under the advice of LoriLee’s attorney, details surrounding the father’s history should not be represented here. LoriLee’s sole objective is to protect Phoenix and provide him with the warm, loving environment he needs and deserves.

<div>Unfortunately, LoriLee, like many disabled veterans, has faced significant challenges in family court. Her ex has made false accusations about her mental health and non-existent substance abuse. These accusations have been repeatedly disproven by the Department of Veterans Affairs through lab tests as well as written testimonials that are filed on her behalf. 
</div>

<div>The Goal

<div>Our goal is to raise $45,000 to cover attorney fees, including a $5,000 retainer, $10,000 custody trial fee and $30,000 for court costs, and additional fees for legal representation and necessary documentation for Whalley Law Firm.  All dollars received will go directly to these expenses.

<div>Time is of essence. The next court date is scheduled for December 2024, and monetary support is needed as soon as possible for legal expenses in presenting a strong case for Phoenix’s well-being.
