Our family has been dealt crushing blows this week. We are reeling from shock and disbelief. On December 6th, the day our grandpa passed away, mom was diagnosed with stage III ovarian cancer at age 53. She underwent immediate surgery. Needless to say, Mom was not prepared emotionally, physically and financially.
My mom is the owner of Farrar Photography.
Mom's life-saving surgery lasted almost 7 hours. The wonderful doctors at Providence removed the tumors that had spread throughout her abdomen. The healing process will be difficult. Mom will soon begin aggressive chemotherapy and will be unable to work. Before her diagnosis, she had been trying to sell her house because the mortgage had become unmanageable. Our family will try to provide as much help and support as possible.
Fortunately, she addressed her illness when she did, however, we are fearful of the mounting medical expenses that will inevitably follow. We are hoping contributions from her community of friends and colleagues will help us reduce the financial burdens and the associated stress so that she can totally focus on her recovery.
We are grateful for the friends who mean so much to mom and their outpouring of love is truly appreciated. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
