Help Lombok and the Gilis

I was on the Island of Gili Air off the main island of Lombok with 6 of my friends when the 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit. We were extremely lucky to get out of there but not without the help of some amazing Angels along the way. We want to give back to the people who so selflessly helped us. Many of them are left with nothing. I haven’t posted any pictures or videos on social media because I can’t bear to look at them. But I will post them here because I think a lot of people don’t realize how bad it was. All photos and pictures I post will be from our own experience or pictures sent from our friends of Lombok. The featured picture was sent by our friend Timmy who we met our first night there. If you can donate anything, we will make sure it goes to the right people. To the people that helped us, to our friends, to our bungalow that is wrecked, to the school where we spent the night scared to death and to the family of the teacher who welcomed us and shared their food and water with us. These people have lost everything so please, no donation is too small! Thank you from the bottom of our blessed hearts! ❤️

Siamo state estremamente fortunate a potercene andare da lì ma è stato possibile solo grazie all’aiuto di alcuni Angeli che abbiamo incontrato lungo la strada. Vogliamo ridare un aiuto a quelli che ci hanno dato una mano senza pensare a se stessi. Molti di loro adesso sono rimasti senza niente, senza una casa, addirittura con difficoltà ad accedere a cibo e acqua.
Non ho postato video o foto sui social perché non ce la faccio io stessa a guardarli ma li pubblicherò qui perché penso che tanti non abbiamo capito la gravità della situazione. Tutte le foto che pubblicherò qui sono della nostra esperienza personale o inviate da amici di Lombok. Tante foto sono state inviate dal nostro amico Timmy che abbiamo conosciuto la prima sera a Gili Air. Qualsiasi cosa che potete donare aiuterebbe molto e trasferiremo tutto direttamente alle persone giuste. Agli Angeli che ci hanno aiutate, ai nostri amici che ci hanno fatte sentire a casa con i loro sorrisi e generosità, ai proprietari del nostro bungalow completamente distrutto, alla scuola davanti alla quale abbiamo passato la notte impaurite, allo stand di fronte dal quale abbiamo potuto prendere l’acqua, all’insegnante della scuola e la sua famiglia che ha diviso con noi il loro cibo, bevande e teli su cui stenderci a terra, ai capitani delle barchette che la mattina ci hanno permesso di salire insieme alla loro famiglia per evacuare l’isola. Queste persone hanno perso tutto completamente, quindi nessuna donazione è troppo piccola! Grazie di cuore! ❤️

I was on a 6.5 week trip with my best friend spending 4 weeks in Indonesia when the earthquake hit just 5 days into our time in Indonesia. We were in Gili Air with 5 other friends celebrating a friend's 40th birthday.
Your relationship or contact to the parties you're raising funds for: We are helping the people who helped us get out off of Gili and out of Lombok. Gili Air is a tiny island and without the help of our Angels, it would have been even harder than it was to get out. People selflessly helped us and we want to give back as much as we can.
How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible): 100% of donated funds will go to our Angels and their families. To the school where we spend the night and the teacher's family who shared their home, food and water with us, our drivers Yair and Adi (on Lombok), the people from our bungalows (on Gili Air), our boat captain (on Gili Air), Yusep, the man who helped us onto our boat to get off Gili Air (on Gili Air), our friends from the island who lost everything (from Gili and Lombok).
Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the ultimate beneficiary/ies: So far we have bank information from our drivers, Yusep and our bungalow. Yusep is helping us get in contact with the teacher of the school and the captain of the boat.
