Hi guys! I'm starting this gofundme on behalf of a friend as close as family to me. She has been through a lot in her life. Currently, after years of suffering in a toxic marriage in order to keep the family together for her son, she is separated and struggling to pay for her son Jhoseth's education.

Below, she tells her story in Spanish. You can find a translation at the bottom:

Hola mi nombre es Lizeth Johanna Martínez. Soy una mujer de 33 años de Ibague, Colombia, y desde los 13 años me fui de la casa. No contaba con el apoyo de papas, pues mi papa dejo a mi mama embarazada, y despues mi mama no tenia como criarme, entonces me tocaba vivir con otros parientes antes de marcharme muy joven. No ha sido fácil mi vida, pero aquí estoy.

Me case a los 20 años y de ese matrimonio nació mi hijo Jhoseth Gabriel Quintero Martínez, un niño que en la actualidad tiene 10 años.

Hace 3 años me separé del papá de mi hijo el cual llegó a un punto que se desentendió del niño y desde entonces, he trabajado esos años para que a mí hijo no le falte nada.

Lamentablemente hoy estoy acá pidiendo una colaboración a ustedes ya que me quedé sin trabajo en el mes de diciembre y hace 15 días volví a conseguir empleo pero solo me alcanzó el pago para cubrir la comida y la renta.

Mi hijo está sin poder ingresar al colegio ya que el papá me quedo mal con las pensiones del año pasado y si no pago la pensión no puedo matricular al niño.

El niño está en un colegio privado ya que el necesita un colegio donde le presten atención especial (tiene un diagnóstico de defecit de atención).

Lo tengo con psicóloga, pero cabe aclarar que es un niño muy inteligente.

Hoy pido ayuda a ustedes para que se coloquen la mano en el corazón y apoyen a que mi hijo pueda entrar al colegio y pueda seguir estudiando y fortaleciéndose cada día con su aprendizaje.

Quedo muy agradecida con cada uno de ustedes y yo sé que con lo que me ayuden se les va a triplicar.

Hi, my name is Lizeth Johanna Martínez. I'm a 33 year old woman from Ibague, Colombia that left home when I was only 13. I didn't have the support of two loving parents. My father left my mother when she got pregnant, and then my mom was not able to raise me on her own, so I had to live with relatives before moving out at an early age. My life hasn't been easy, but here I am.

I got married when I was 20 years old, and from that marriage my son Jhoseth Gabriel Quintero Martínez was born. He's now 10 years old.

Three years ago, I separated from his father who reached the point of neglecting his son. Since then, I've worked hard on my own to give my son the best life possible so that he would have everything he needs.

Unfortunately, today I am here asking for help because last month I lost my job and only just started a new one 15 days ago. So far, I've only had enough money to pay for food and rent.

My son is unable to go to school due to lack of financial support from his father who was supposed to pay the school fees for last year. If I don't pay those fees, then I can't register my son to start a new school year. For now, we are in limbo, with me working long hours and him unable to enroll and attend classes.

Jhoseth is in a private school because he has special needs (ADHD) and must receive extra support and attention. He gets counseling, and I'd like to clarify that he is a very intelligent child.

Today I'm asking that you put your hand on your heart and show your support so that my son can start school again in order to continue studying and receiving a proper education day by day.
