Hi all!

I need your help on my journey to motherhood. With encouragement from a few good friends, I decided to start a Go Fund Me to help offset the costs of my IVF treatment. I knew always wanted to be a mother. While I've gotten to spend a lot of time with kids over the years, from teaching English in Japan to teaching game design in afterschool programs and babysitting, I still dreamt of being a mom.

Several years ago I began to seriously consider becoming a single mom by choice. After very careful research, much thought, and time spent getting as healthy as possible, I began the process. Last fall, I started working with a fertility clinic to make my dream of motherhood come true.

I was first diagnosed with PCOS in 2007. This means I get very very irregular cycles. Acupuncture, supplements, and a healthy diet have helped immensely. After spending time and my own funds on other treatments, IVF is the next step in my journey. With the help of modern fertility medicine including IVF, women with PCOS get pregnant every day.

Insurance will cover the vast majority of my first IVF procedure which often costs close to $20,000 without insurance. I know I am very lucky. However, the medications and donor semen are not covered. These will cost up to $6,000. This GoFundMe will help me offset these costs.
