Be A Part of The Great Exhale™ Movement

The Great Exhale™ is a private membership community built specifically to center Black women, who are so often left forgotten in the margins of life.

Hi, we’re Lisa and Liz, and we are the Co-Founders of The Great Exhale™. We are activists who have worked tirelessly over the past several years to advocate around issues including racism, anti-blackness, and DEI.

It has been a sisyphean task.

With every seeming advancement, society takes several steps back. And with every step back, Black women find themselves at the bottom of the barrel: the most marginalized of all marginalized communities. We feel as though we keep fighting for seats at tables where we are not welcome—and it’s exhausting.

In this context, the idea for The Great Exhale™ was born.

Our goal is to create a soft, nurturing online space for Black women where we can relax, lay our burdens down—and exhale.

What We Need & Why

Of course, building one’s own table requires resources, so we are running this campaign to fund start-up costs for this innovative and much-needed private membership community.

At the moment we’re a small but mighty team. We are all wearing several hats, and building our vision with ingenuity and sweat equity. Clearly, that is not sustainable. Though we are starting small, our goals are big. We are therefore raising funds to help us bring The Great Exhale™ fully to life for global impact.

Both of us strongly believe that Black people deserve to be paid, and paid well, so we plan to practice what we preach. We are raising $50,000 which will be spent on:

Transparency is one of our fundamental tenets, so as the campaign evolves, we will keep you updated on how the funds are spent.

The Impact

Our goal is to create a global wave of the healing and nurturing which Black women so desperately need. Our dream is for Black women to feel free to manifest lives filled with joy, ease, and abundance. We will facilitate this by creating a space for Black women to:

❤️ Be in community with a supportive sisterhood.

❤️ Divest from the tyranny of overwork.

❤️ Be free from having to constantly code switch.

❤️ Be as excellent or as average as they choose.

❤️ Openly share lived experiences and have them validated by folks who understand.

❤️ Enjoy a softer, friendlier, more fulfilling life.
