Liudmila is a survivor of the Jefferson Apartments fire in Squirrel Hill. Last week she lost her home and everything inside it.

She is a quiet woman who has always worked hard and rarely asked anyone for help. Liudmila spends her nights caring for a paralyzed woman, showing the same kindness and strength she has carried through her own struggles.

She has survived cancer, and lives with diabetes and high blood pressure. Now, on top of all this, she is coping with the trauma of losing her home.

The Red Cross has offered short-term assistance but cannot provide an apartment. Liudmila needs support to secure a place to live and to furnish it with the basics like a bed, table, kitchen items and clothing.

This fundraiser is for Liudmila herself, and is managed by her neighbor Brendan. Your donation will help her start over and rebuild her life from the ground up, from a roof over her head in a new apartment, to getting furniture and clothes again.
